 [excerpts]... Edna J. LEISER, 95, formerly of 1116 16th Ave, Monroe, who died Mon 14 Mar 1988...[in Monroe].

The former Edna J. JONES was born in Sheldon IA 31 Oct 1892, the daughter of Charles & Verena (ISELY) JONES.  Her father died two years afterward [1894] & Carl MARTY later became her stepfather.

She was raised in  Chicago, where she gained formal education.  Her marriage to Emil W. LEISER took place 10 June 1918 in Chicago.  He died 16 July 1971.

After moving to Monroe, she was employed as a nurses aide...[in Monroe]...then worked as an accountant for Monroe Cold Storage for many years until retiring... was a member of St John's United Church of Christ...

Surviving are a sister, Katherine FITZGIBBON of Redding CA, and nieces & nephews. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Charlotte in infancy; two sisters, Grace FRAZER & Bessie GERMANN; & three brothers, Carl MARTY Jr, Robert F. MARTY & Walter MARTY.

Funeral...Sat [19 Mar 1988] at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe.  The Rev Dr Arthur ELLERSIECK of St John's United Church of Christ will officiate.

Interment...Graceland Cemetery, Chicago...
